It’s not a big place, but that’s exactly its charm: everything feels close, peaceful, and deeply rooted in history. Just outside Despotovac rises Manasija, a fortified medieval monastery built by Despot Stefan Lazarević. Its stone walls and towers look like something out of a fantasy novel, while the church inside holds some of the finest frescoes of the Morava school.
